This is not the first time that Tamás Keresztes has played the main character in a Bodó-performance; the renowned play, Rattledanddisappeared – which also presents the inevitable rampage of a little guy – was based around him, too. In this story, Keresztes plays a clerk, who is gradually losing his sense of reality, or who is already mentally compromised.

The new version of the performance text was based on several translations and their corroboration with the original Russian text. Another important actor besides Keresztes is a loop that provides an ambience and atmosphere, based on which the music of the performance is created live. Are we mad, or has the world around us gone mad? − a question raised by Gogol’s story written in 1834 that is still relevant today, in 2016.
