Roxana ArdeleanuThe Fuchsiad is a “heroic-erotic and musical poem”, according to the author’s description. It depicts Fuchs’ odyssey from his birth: “When Fuchs was born, he preferred to come out of his grandmother’s ear, because his mother didn’t have a musical ear.” Fuchs is a talented musician and becomes a piano virtuoso. One night he goes on a trip with his piano and ends up in an obscure neighbourhood where for three hours he plays “different exercises of legato and staccato” dedicated to the Vestals of Pleasures. Venus overhears his music, seems attracted to him, and invites Fuchs to Olympus for a night.
