MULTIPLE ARTFORMS PRESENT AT THE INTERFERENCES

In addition to the several performances that take place daily, during the past weekend, the Interferences Festival of Cluj awaited its guests also with movie screenings, concerts, book presentations and exhibitions.

Saturday, the day after the theatrical performance of It's Not the Time of My Life, directed by Szabolcs Hajdu, the movie version of the same play was screened at the Tranzit House. The film won the Crystal Globe at this year's Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. As Szabolcs Hajdu said during the meeting the creative team had with audiences, it is their hope, that the performance and film that revolve around everyday problems and situations will help audiences live their own lives.

Also Saturday, the festival has discovered a new space for theater: the hall of the Remarul-16 februarie railway wagon factory. It was here that the Queen Mary Theatre's ensemble from Oradea performed In the Heart of the Night - Lear Episode, an adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear.

During the weekend, the Interferences Festival provided ample opportunities for jazz and ska music lovers alike. The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography housed jazz-pianist Lucian Ban's concert, while at Tranzit House festival-goers enjoyed the performance of the band Suburbia 11 from Sibiu.

The lobby of the Hungarian Theatre's Studio Hall fulfilled a new function by transforming into an art gallery during the festival, showcasing artist Botond Részegh's works from his Mirage and Damnation collection. One of the pieces of the collection represents the defining visual element of the festival.
