The band Bucinatores is currently performing in two different lineups, as a big or as a small band. More recently, the band appears as an avant-garde jazz orchestra drawing inspiration from the classical music of the second half of the 20th century, using electronics. On the other hand, the original small lineup, consisting of six musicians these days, is performing as a merry, purely acoustic funk-jazz-rock brass band that knows how to engage in burial mood with humour.

The band was founded in 2003 by at that time twenty-one year old trombone and eufonium  player Jan Jirucha Jr. and his classmates from the Conservatory of Jaroslav Jezek in Prague.
Influenced by bands like The Bad Plus, Sex Mob and Bonerama they compiled a repertoire, documented by the "Orange CD". It is worth noting that the band was significantly shaped by the sound of bassist Ales Slavik.
