The original version of Orpheus and Eurydice premiered on May 23 in 1975 at the Wuppertal Opera. After being performed with the Tanztheater company for the last time in 1994 it was revived with the Ballet of the Paris Operain 2005. The recording was done in Paris in 2008 in close collaboration with Pina Bausch.
